Tell me about yourself?
I was born in the Philippines and I did high school in Colorado Springs. I joined the United States Navy right after high school and served in several leadership positions within 8 years of my enlistment. After the Navy, I became self-employed and created website for others. When I moved to Texas, I started volunteering at a child abuse prevention agency as a family coach and webmaster. My work ethic and personality led me to being hired full time by the executive director who tasked me with building a department from the ground up. I led the Family Violence Unit where I recruited, trained, and mentored advocates who are in charge of helping survivors of domestic violence.
What motivates you?

What do you bring to the table?
I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and leadership skills to the table. I’m passionate about building high-performing teams and creating a culture of innovation and collaboration that empowers the team to deliver their best work.
What's with the unicorn?
The unicorn is my personal mascot. It reminds me that data science is a very broad field and ever changing field and there is not one data scientist who knows it all. Unicorn data scientists remind to be humble and adapt a growth mindset instead of perfection.
